10 Apr RELEASE | Vince Watson’s Archives
Vince Watson has released a series of Archives including tracks that were originally available on Vinyl, remastered and brought to life for 2023.
First up are the incredibly popular Superbra tracks. 8 tracks that really represent not only the early 00’s sound, but also its current revival among the new generation of artists who are playing the style. Superbra was a fantastic label, and Vince was blessed to be given the final release as a goodbye entitled ‘The Final Techture’, which features in this 8 track LP.
Up next in the Archive releases we have the releases on Ben Sims’ Ingoma and Symbolism labels from 2003 to 2005, which also includes a few unreleased tracks from the series.
The 3rd Archive release is from the legendary Tresor label. Vince was a resident DJ at Tresor between 2011-2015, where he hosted his Radio Drama event alongside Future Beat Alliance. This archive features the 6 tracks that were released on the Tresor label during those years, and combine both Vince’s spacey Detroit infused techno alongside some more upfront groovers.
The Amsterdam based Delsin label was a great home for Vince’s music in this era as he explored the raw Detroit sound he was known for in more detail. The album ‘The eMotion Sequence’ was a big success. The album was originally signed to Transmat Records in Detroit, but the label stopped operating due to the Detroit Electronic Music Festival collapsing. (DEMF was the precursor to Movement). The album was then offered to Delsin and around it came an album sampler as well as a one off 12” entitled ‘Ethereal’ which is also featured here in this archive.
More archives are to come from From, Poker Flat, Planet E, Alola, Rotation, as well as albums like Sublimina, Every Soul Needs A Guide, Echoes From The Future and a big release of the ‘Sphere’ releases that features on Primate and many more labels, which also includes 10 unreleased tracks.
