One of the most consistent and hardest working men in the game and one of Detroit’s most legit and verified forefathers, Bailey and Baxter are kindred spirits. They’re heading on a road trip… And, as the title suggests, you have no option but to come with them.
‘Submit Yourself To Me’ is all about hypnosis: that full physical and mental assent to something stronger than any one individual. It’s done through gradual but persistent momentum, stripped back elements, commanding messages and an essence to the groove that’s existed since kick drums were invented. A true wormhole of a track; this sucks you in, chews you up and never lets you go.
As with any MB Elektronics release, it’s backed by a clutch of equally mesmerizing remixes that cover the entire board. Bailey provides a selection of his own; one gracefully drawn out piece in the form of his new Buraki guise and a crucial Electro mix where the breaks take the lead and the cosmic elements follow close in pursuit. Elsewhere Blake Baxter adds his own slightly dubby edit and Belgian Zzino and Gus Carver flip the vibe into something much heavier and persistent.
