RELEASE | Steve Rachmad presents Ignacio – Organa [Remastered]

Originally released on Music Man Records in 1997, Organa / Organon marked one of the earliest transmissions from Steve Rachmad’s Ignacio project.

Emerging during a period of extraordinary creativity, the Ignacio alias allowed Rachmad to explore a more direct and hypnotic side of his sound. While Sterac was already establishing itself as one of the defining voices of Dutch techno, Ignacio became a parallel outlet for stripped-down machine funk, Detroit-inspired futurism and deep club functionality.

Nearly three decades later, Organa and Organon remain timeless examples of Rachmad’s unmistakable approach to electronic music: elegant, functional and deeply musical. Built around warm analogue textures, rolling grooves and subtle melodic movement, both tracks capture a moment when techno was still discovering new possibilities while remaining firmly connected to the dancefloor.

As part of Steve Rachmad’s ongoing catalogue restoration project, the Ignacio catalogue is now being brought under the broader Sterac universe, reconnecting these recordings with the body of work from which they emerged. This reissue offers a renewed perspective on an important chapter in the evolution of one of Amsterdam’s most influential electronic music pioneers.

For this edition, the original recordings have been carefully remastered by MA Spaventi, preserving their character while enhancing depth and clarity for contemporary listening environments. New artwork has been created by Sofia Saxlund.
