Long before “Ravesignal Returns” was a headline, Cisco Ferreira and CJ Bolland were already sharing the booth, tearing through the sound that would come to define early European techno.
Two pieces of archive footage have surfaced from that era, and they’re a reminder of just how far back this goes. The first is CJ and Cisco live at Orbit, Leeds, one of the UK’s most legendary early-90s techno clubs.
The second takes us to Dorian Gray, the iconic Frankfurt club that shaped German electronic music years before Berlin became the genre’s epicentre.
Three decades on, with Ravesignal back and booking again after this summer’s reunion at Blitz Munich, footage like this is a rare look at where it all started, and a preview of the energy they’re bringing back to dancefloors now.
