25 Mar NEWS | Insolate on Fashion.hr About Her Fusion of Music, Fashion, and Artistic Identity
In a recent interview with Fashion.hr, renowned Croatian techno DJ and producer Sunčica Barišić, known as Insolate, delves into the deep connection between music and fashion, highlighting her collaboration with designer Helen Kelen during the BIPA FASHION.HR event.
Insolate, a prominent figure in the European techno scene with over two decades of experience, has performed at iconic venues like Berghain, Tresor, and Rex, as well as major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Dimensions, and Exit. Her partnership with Helen Kelen began in 2021 when she sought a unique outfit for her Boiler Room performance in Switzerland. Impressed by Kelen’s designs, Insolate wore a custom-made shirt that perfectly matched her vision.
Their collaboration evolved, leading to Insolate composing the soundtrack for Kelen’s avant-garde streetwear collection showcased at BIPA FASHION.HR. Insolate emphasizes that fashion is an extension of her artistic expression, allowing her to embody the techno culture’s essence of futurism, individuality, and avant-garde aesthetics.
She notes that her stage outfits vary depending on the venue: bold and experimental for clubs like Berghain, vibrant and playful for festivals, and predominantly black ensembles for underground club settings. Through fashion, Insolate enhances her performances, creating a cohesive visual and auditory experience that resonates with her audience.
