The Advent and Jon Hester collaborate on Participation 006, delivering powerful tracks to take dance floors in two directions. First up is ‘Push’, built with forward pressure and driving dynamics as warm synth elements and bleeps stack up amidst insistent claps and bells. Next, ‘Pull’ takes an agile turn into stranger territory, featuring crisp shifting rhythms under intermittent synths dancing in and out of shadows and smoke.
Midwest American Jon Hester started his Participation label for solo work and collaborations with fellow underground talents. His own works have been released on the likes of Rekids, Klockworks, and Tresor, to name a few, establishing his signature sound with warmth, groove, and soul. London based Cisco Ferreira, aka The Advent, has built a legendary following and catalogue since his years as a sound engineer in the early 90s, going on to propel the art forms of techno, electro, and house (as G Flame) with captivating live performances, productions, and DJ sets. His music has been released on a myriad of vanguard labels, including Tresor, Klockworks, Perc Trax, Tortured/Electrix, Conform, Internal/FFRR, and his own Kombination Research outlet. His devotion to the craft and no-nonsense approach continue to underscore his enduring relevance as a referential artist.
