02 Apr NEWS | Dimitri awarded “Knight of the Order Oranje Nassau”
On the opening night of his 40-year career anniversary tour, Dimitri was awarded the “Knight of the Order Oranje Nassau” by Local Mayor Touria Meliani for his important contribution to Dutch dance music.
During the sold-out opening party (which sold out in under 10 minutes), Dimitri’s contributions to the local community over the past 40 years were recognised and awarded. Due to the high-demand for tickets, and the fast selling-out of the opening party, the need for an Afterparty was very clear. So, Dimitri’s 40-year tour kicked off with a marathon in Paradiso, Amsterdam, and will be followed by shows all-over the country in the coming months.
The royal decoration is awarded to persons who have personally made a credit to society, the Dutch State or the Royal House. You can read more about the award with Het Parool, a local Amsterdam newspaper.
