Hot on the heels of their recent 12″ for Berlin-based label Vakant, CYRK return to Rawax with another commanding four-tracker.
Diving deep into their love for the darker, more cinematic corners of Detroit’s electro heritage, the “Memorial EP” shows the Berlin-based duo at the top of their game. The eponymous opening track, which some may already know from Helena Hauff’s latest DJ-mix accompanying her big Mixmag cover, is an acidic jacker full of tense arpeggios and intricate drum programming.
“Monuments”, the second track of the A-side, is a string-heavy affair and could just as well come from the Hessle Audio camp. It’s all about moody electro on the flip side again. “Technique” and “Integrate” increase the tempo, expertly showcasing CYRK’s unique contemporary take on funkified electro. With the “Memorial EP” CYRK deliver another stunning slab of pure, body shaking night drive vibes.
